Civil Unions

Civil Unions provide eligible adult couples, regardless of their gender, the opportunity to obtain the benefits, protections, and responsibilities afforded by Colorado Law. A Civil Union requires a license issued by the county clerk and recorder. Dissolving a Civil Union is, in essence, the same procedure as a divorce, and may include the same complex parenting, support, and asset division issues.

Michael Switzer has worked with same-sex couples to divide their estate in civil actions even prior to the adoption of the Colorado Civil Union Act.  If you need to dissolve your civil union, Contact Switzer Family Law Office, LLC to get started today.
